The ultimate in technology has finally revolutionized the equine industry with the CSI Flex Plate System: The flex plate has withstood the test of time and use. CSI test pads are now nearing 15,000 hours of hard riding at the Lower Snake River Cattle Ranch at the base of the Teton in Wilson, WY. Our pads are also tested at a busy Texas feedlot and by a host of clinicians and professional horsemen from coast to coast. Plus, there are numerous competition and trail riders that absolutely swear by this pad. The unique design of the flex plate will reduce or eliminate common saddle fit issue. Because of the three overlapping layers of a very strong polycarbonate material (10,000 psi tensile strength), it simply will not allow any pressure points to radiate into the horse. This design allows for even distribution of the riders weight, saddle tree pressure and any type of impact, including roping. The flex plate increases the range of motion and the overall comfort for the horse. The flex plate also creates a foundation for the saddle bars to rest on, creating more stability, allowing the rider to feel more secure.

The contour is built into the pad; when it is pulled up into the saddle gullet it will remain in that position during the entire ride. It will not work down and apply pressure across the wither. Because of the foundation that the flex plate creates there will be no pressure applied to the spine. You will usually have even sweat every where except down the spine of the horse. The contour and the vent holes allow for good air flow.

The outer shell is marine grade automotive carpeting backed with felt. The Flex Plate is sewn in between the layers. Available colors are black, light brown, medium brown, dark brown, blue, and gray. Wear leathers are available in black or brown, The leather weight is 6 ounce. .

A cut out for latigo and off billet help to keep everything under your leg neat and reduces bulk.

Our 100% All Natural Wool Felt inserts are made from a high quality, high density wool and are needled versus pressed during the felting process. This means what touches your horse is never subjected to harsh chemical processes! The removable inserts are offered in different thickness: 1/2 inch for the round backed or over weight horses and our 3/4 inch is the most versatile.

The Show Cut version of our Western Saddlepad is completely concealable under a standard Navajo blanket.

CSI Saddle pad October 26, 2014
Reviewer: Sandra Minchew from Chaplin, CT United States
I was very hesitant about purchasing a CSI pad because of the price but after thinking about how much I had spent on all the other cheaper pads that I bought and talking with other people at my barn that own a CSI pad I decided to buy own. I received my pad this Thurs and tried it out yesterday and my horse absolutely loves it she was an Angel she appeared to be very comfortable. I am so happy that I chose CSI and I wish I had do so sooner. I would highly recommend CSI saddle pads seriously thinking about getting an English one to. Thank you so much for such a great saddle pad.

I just want to send another thank you for making such a great pad. Fabio and I tip our hats to you.  This picture was taken in Glendale wi near Milwaukee Wi. We rode our friend into the sunset after her retirement from the police department. Fabio was relaxed and happy the whole ride. A year ago I found out the tree on my saddle had been broken after months of my wonderful horse bucking at the canter. Purchased a new saddle that was a great fit and bucking lessened but didn't go away.  I was desperate to fix the issues and make Fabio happy, so I decided to purchase your pad, all bucking has stopped and he is breathing at the canter again.  Thanks from the deepest parts of my heart and God bless.

Original Review Date: 05/11/2010 12:16pm - I did a lot of research before I bought this pad and I can't say how much I love it. The difference really is amazing; my horse has a short back and I just could not seem to find a saddle that did not pinch his shoulders. I have no more problem with soreness and this pad is worth every penny. I would not hesitate to buy another one. Sold all my other pads and only own CSI now.

Original Review Date: 09/28/2010 05:42pm - I have not yet bought my pad, waiting to have the extra cash but borrow a friends' alot. She got me into these pads and they are truely worth every penny!! I used one on one of her geldings that has a sensative back and used the wrong saddle with him that normally would make him turn into a bronc but I never had him buck once! I'm glad someone took the effort and time to design this pad. You're truely an awesome woman :)

Original Review Date: 12/26/2012 02:20pm - I bought my first CSI Saddlepad after visiting their booth at the Road To The Horse in 2010. When it arrived that following weekend I went on a 6 hour ride on my mutton whitered foundation quarterhorse. I kept looking down at his shoulder and whiters and was in awe at the freedom of movement and that even while sitting on the saddle the pad never pulled down on my horses whiters. I am buying my second saddle pad so I don't have to keep swapping it out for my other quarterhorse. They are not cheap but they pay for themself in one trail ride. If you get a chance stop at one of CSI Booth's and try out the pressure demo on your hand; there is no turning back.
